Festival & Ticketing

  1. Festival events are ticketed through our official ticketing partners. For the 2024 Festival, these ticketing partners were:

    ASB Waterfront Theatre
    Q Theatre
    Te Pou Theatre

    To ensure you are purchasing genuine tickets please buy via aaf.co.nz, aklfest.co.nz or aucklandfestival.co.nz, which link directly to our partners, or through our partners directly. We cannot guarantee your tickets will be valid if purchased through any other channel. Please beware of ticket onsellers such as Viagogo and DO NOT purchase on websites that are not official partners of the Festival.
  2. Ticket prices include GST but exclude booking fees and credit card charges. These charges will be added to the final total before you confirm the transaction. See Tickets for more information.
  3. It is important you view the individual events ticketing providers’ websites for their terms and conditions of purchase.
  4. Some seats, other than Premium and A Reserve seats, may have sightline or sound restrictions. See Tickets for descriptions of our reserves and seating types.
  5. All tickets are subject to availability. They are restricted by offer dates and the number of seats available in a given reserve or price type.
  6. Latecomers may be excluded from the show or admitted only at a suitable point in the performance. Latecomers are not entitled to transfers or refunds.
  7. Our priority is the health and safety of our audiences, artists, staff and crew, and we will adhere to all government regulations and venue safety policy. By purchasing tickets or attending an event, you agree to these regulations and policies. If you find yourself unable to come to a show due to sickness or change of circumstances, we encourage you to pass your ticket(s) on to someone else.
  8. All sales are final and there are no refunds or exchanges except as required by law, or Festival policy or ticketing provider policy.
  9. Official Festival ticketing partners’ terms and conditions apply.
  10. We may alter the price of tickets in response to varying levels of consumer demand. Such alterations do not affect the terms and conditions applying to tickets purchased before the price change, and do not entitle you to claim a refund on your ticket price or the difference between your ticket price and the newly adjusted ticket price.
  11. Information on this website is correct at the time of publication. The Festival reserves the right to alter, without notice, any events, programmes or artists.
  12. $30 for under 30's are available for some events until allocation is exhausted.  Presentation of ID at the venue may be required.
  13. Early bird tickets for the 2025 festival are available for selected shows from 13 November 2024 - 9.59am 27 November 2024. Black Grace – This is not a Retrospective early bird ends 11.59pm 17 November. Auckland Theatre Company, a mixtape for maladies, enjoy 20% off preview performances. Excludes SIX the Musical, A Streetcar Named Desire and Piers Lane Nocturnes. 

Competitions & Giveaways

  1. Competitions and giveaways are communicated via our website, e-newsletter and/or social channels including Facebook, Twitter and Instagram, and via third parties authorised by The Auckland Festival Trust.
  2. The Auckland Festival Trust competitions are in no way associated with Facebook, Twitter or Instagram.
  3. Entrants must be 18 years old or over.
  4. The Auckland Festival Trust employees and their immediate family are not eligible to apply.
  5. One entry per person, per competition.
  6. Information provided when entering a competition is for use by The Auckland Festival Trust only. For details see our Privacy Policy.
  7. Winners are drawn at random on the date communicated.
  8. Winners are notified by email. If a response isn’t received in 48 hours, another winner will be drawn.
  9. The Auckland Festival Trust reserves the right to publish the name of the winner through our social media channels.
  10. Prizes are non-transferable and cannot be exchanged for cash.
  11. Some specific terms and conditions for individual prizes may apply, as well as terms and conditions stipulated by third parties authorised by The Auckland Festival Trust.

Flexible Ticket Policy

Flexible Ticketing Policy Te Ahurei Toi o Tāmaki Auckland Arts Festival.

1. Policy applies to performances of A Streetcar Named Desire, SMASHED – The Nightcap, Belle – A Performance of Air and Lula Washington Dance Theatre, in New Zealand at Auckland Arts Festival 2025.

2. Tickets may only be exchanged for performances of the originally purchased season – i.e. A Streetcar Named Desire, SMASHED – The Nightcap, Belle – A Performance of Air and Lula Washington Dance Theatre.

3. Exchanges must be made no later than 48 hours prior to start of originally-ticketed performance.

4. Tickets may be exchanged for any other single performance to the same show on sale at time of exchange, subject to seat availability, blackout dates, sold-out performances and other restrictions. Exchanges may not be made for same performance.

5. Exchanges will only be made for tickets purchased through the authorised ticket seller for the venue, Ticketmaster.

a. You can do this directly from within the Ticketmaster app via My Account, see this link for instructions on how to do this. Alternatively, you can submit a request.

b. For group sales please contact your groups representative. This exchange policy does not apply to tickets purchased through the Ticketmaster Groups Department.

c. Exchange requests can only be made by the original purchaser.

6. Exchanges will be valued at original face value of the ticket purchased. Additional payments apply if choosing a performance or section that costs more than the original or if exchanges are from an originally-discounted ticket into a performance with no discounted tickets available.

7. Guests may receive partial refunds if the face value of the original ticket is higher than the face value of the new ticket. Refunds are not otherwise allowed except as guaranteed under New Zealand consumer law.

8. New special offers may not be applied to exchanged tickets.

9. Exchanges may not be made to reduce the total number of tickets originally purchased.

10. Upon exchange, original tickets will be voided and will not allow access in to the performance. Customers must present newly issued tickets for entry into the performance.

11. Complimentary tickets and resold tickets are not eligible for exchange.

12. Other restrictions may apply. Exchange policy may change or be revoked without notice.

WHO ARE THE AUTHORISED TICKET SELLERS?

The authorised ticket seller for A Streetcar Named Desire, SMASHED – The Nightcap, Belle – A Performance of Air or Lula Washington Dance Theatre at Kiri Te Kanawa Theatre, Aotea Centre or The Spiegeltent Aotea Square Auckland is Ticketmaster.

If you attend a performance of A Streetcar Named Desire, SMASHED – The Nightcap, Belle – A Performance of Air or Lula Washington Dance Theatre at Kiri Te Kanawa Theatre, Aotea Centre or

The Spiegeltent Aotea Square, Auckland with a ticket purchased via an unauthorised re-seller such as Viagogo, TradeMe, eBay, Queen of Tickets, or similar, you may be refused entry to the Event.

Please be advised, the venue and producer has no obligation to honour tickets purchased via unauthorised re-sellers, we strongly encourage all ticket purchases to be completed through the authorised seller only.
