Are children welcome?

Everyone is welcome at the Festival, and every year we offer family-friendly events. However, some events may not be suitable for children under 3 and others come with an age recommendations and/or content advisory. Please check the individual event pages on our website for this information.

Unfortunately, due to ticketing arrangements, we do not offer Festival-specific vouchers. You can buy venue-specific vouchers through our partner venues: Q Theatre, ASB Waterfront Theatre and Ticketmaster.

When do tickets go on sale?

Tickets go on sale the day of the Festival programme launch — traditionally in October/November. Some events may be announced earlier and tickets made available in advance. Stay tuned for early bird and pre-sale opportunities by signing up to our Festival newsletter here.
How do I get my hands on a Festival programme brochure?

Preorder registration to receive a printed brochure will be available to the public in the third quarter of the year, prior to Festival’s programme launch in October/November.
Digital versions (PDF and screen reader) of the brochure will be made available on the Festival website from programme launch date, while printed copies will be distributed around Auckland — specifically, to Festival venues such as Aotea Centre and Auckland Town Hall, as well as participating institutions such as arts galleries and libraries.
A list of places to pick up a copy will be published in November.

The Festival is curated and participation as an artist or company is by invitation. You can make your work known to our Artistic Director and Kaihautu Māori (for works and ideas of kaupapa Māori, kaupapa Pasifika and Indigenous origin) for future consideration.
